This project deals with structural evaluation against climatic loads and the utilization and seismic analysis of an existing telecommunications tower performed by SAQQARA INGENIERIA S.L., a customer of Dlubal Software. The structure is a lattice tower with a square section plan, made of steel cross-sections, with a radar and the necessary auxiliary equipment installed on it, including a spherical radome as a mimicry.
In Cologne, a new exhibition greenhouse and an orangery are going to enrich the Flora botanical garden. The exhibition greenhouse consists of three arched building sections that are connected to each other.
The goal was to design a spiral staircase with glass steps and railings spanning 2 floors. With sophisticated anchoring details and helical stringers created from subtle rectangular hollow sections, a light and elegant staircase was formed. The interior spiral staircase is located inside the educational, training, and rehabilitation center in the city of Zlín.
The station building is an organic shaped steel structure consisting of three connected parts. The left and right building sections are formed by curved Vierendeel truss beams extruding from the main Vierendeel truss down to the reinforced concrete foundation. These main trusses are supported by a row of columns with additional vertical bracing.
On the Mediterranean island of Formentera, a new cross-laminated timber building was constructed, which is used by a sailing school and a water sports center. The one-story building consists of two separate sections that are connected by low-lying glued-laminated beams in the roof area.
For a project in Rotterdam, ADS Ertner used IDEA CONNECTION to analyze a structural steel connection. This program calculates steel connections utilizing the CBFEM method, where each thin-walled cross-section is modeled with nonlinear material properties, nonlinear bolts, and nonlinear welds. In order to transfer loads, ADS Ertner needed to use blocks in the connection model. In IDEA CONNECTION, blocks are not easily integrated with thin-walled plates.
A kindergarten, designed according to Building Information Modeling (BIM), is currently under construction in the Tyrolean municipality of Schwoich. The digital 3D model accompanies the construction project from design until completion.
The architectural planning was performed with Autodesk Revit. The structural model, including cross-sections, materials, loads, and so on, was exported to RFEM with the direct interface and designed there.
The new bridge replaces the existing Hervester Bridge No. 423, which was classified as dilapidated. After assembly on the bank, it was pushed over the Wesel-Datteln Canal step by step. A pontoon boat was used here to move the structure to the other bank.
Since March 2011, a glass pedestrian bridge with a length of 98.4 ft has connected St. Michael's Hospital with the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute research center. The supporting structure consists of several oval steel rings which are twisted together. The bridge, with a section height of 15 ft and a width of 12.4 ft, was designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc. from Toronto.
The designed object is a heat exchanger to which a chimney was set up, a construction with an overall height of 199.1 ft. The structure consists mainly of sheets that were reinforced by exterior steel cross-sections in the bottom area.
